Turkey Salisbury Steak

Ingredients Method
1 pound lean ground turkey 1. Combine turkey, panko, and seasonings in a large bowl.
1/2 cup panko 2. Heat oil in a large skillet. Form four patties from meat and fry over medium high heat, approximately 5 minutes per side. Remove from heat and turn to medium.
1 tablespoon garlic powder 3. Slice mushrooms thinly and add to pan, cooking until browned and soft.
1 teaspoon each salt, black pepper, cayenne, and Italian seasonings 4. Add French Onion soup to pan, stirring frequently. Add half and half and turn heat to low.
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 5. Add steaks back to pan, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
1 quart crimini mushrooms 6. Serve hot.
1 can condensed French Onion soup
1/4 cup half and half
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Serving Suggestions

  • Goes well with nearly any steamed vegetable, but is especially fond of Rosemary New Potatoes - the potatoes soak up the gravy beautifully


  • Ground beef can be used in place of turkey for a more traditional Salisbury steak, although turkey offers a far leaner meal
  • Condensed French Onion soup is a nice short cut to the gravy - for a more traditional gravy, build a roux using flour and butter, then thin out with beef bouillon and a bit of cream
